(Senior) Communications Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission

As a (Senior) Communications Manager, you will build and shape our internal communications while supporting external communication projects. You'll be the central connection point between our Public Relations team, C-Level, HR, and other stakeholders, ensuring complex topics are accessible to everyone. You will be responsible for:

Building the Foundation – Thinking Strategically

Developing the communication strategy: In alignment with your manager, you create a holistic strategy for internal audiences – including governance, formats, and employer branding.
Shaping culture: You promote our culture and values across locations and bring them to life.
Supporting change: You plan change and strategy communication in the context of a dynamic scale-up, with a focus on dialogue and feedback spaces – in collaboration with C-Level and leadership teams.

Implementing & Creating – The Daily Work

Building channels: You define, develop, and manage communication channels (intranet, newsletter, monthly meetings, etc.).
Content creation: You prepare content (text, image, video, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders – with an eye for different perspectives.
Shaping projects: Based on needs, you take on external communication projects in PR, social media, website, and branding.

Your profile

You bring at least 3 years of professional experience in communications, ideally in a scale-up or tech environment, a background in external communications or PR is an additional plus.
You've already helped build communication structures and supported change processes through communications. Additional experience in project management is required. Employer branding is an advantage.
You have excellent communication skills in German and fluent English proficiency.
You are empathetic when working with different audiences and their perspectives, and you bring experience collaborating with C-Level and leadership teams.
You develop compelling concepts, write confidently, and use PowerPoint as a design tool for impactful storytelling.
You are hands-on and combine operational implementation with strategic thinking.
You have an affinity for sustainability and circular economy, and you're curious about technical topics.

About us

cylib is a research-based German scaleup for holistic battery recycling - starting from discharging to recovery of all components of the lithium battery - that was founded in Aachen in 2022 by three visionary founders, including a female CEO.

Our process

The cylib process offers a complete end-to-end process from battery pack to green battery material by employing a combination of mechanical and thermal pre-treatments and an innovative water-based lithium and graphite recovery. Unlike incumbents, cylib can therefore recover battery materials such as lithium, graphite or manganese. The process was developed over several years of research at the renown RWTH Aachen University and offers an efficient, resource- and climate friendly recovery of all battery materials from end-of-life batteries.

cylib's technology enables the recovery of all battery components regardless of whether it is an end-of-life battery or not. Recovery of green secondary raw materials from the cylib process enables the realization of the true Circular Economy on the European market.

Deine Aufgaben

Als (Senior) Communications Manager (m/w/d) gestaltest und baust du unsere interne Kommunikation auf und begleitest externe Kommunikationsprojekte mit. Du bist die Schnittstelle zwischen Public Relations Team, C-Level, Human Relations und weiteren Stakeholdern und sorgst dafür, dass komplexe Themen für alle zugänglich sind. Dabei bist du verantwortlich für:

Fundament schaffen – strategisch denken

Entwicklung der Kommunikationsstrategie: In Abstimmung mit deiner Führungskraft entwickelst du eine ganzheitliche Strategie für interne Zielgruppen – inklusive Governance, Formaten und Employer Branding.
Gestaltung der Kultur: Du förderst unsere Kultur und Werte standortübergreifend und machst sie erlebbar.
Begleitung von Change: Du planst im Kontext eines dynamischen Scale-ups Change- und Strategiekommunikation mit Fokus auf Dialog und Feedbackräume – in Zusammenarbeit mit C-Level und Führungskräften.

Umsetzen & gestalten – das Daily Business

Aufbau von Kanälen: Du definierst, entwickelst und bespielst Kommunikationskanäle (Intranet, Newsletter, Monthly Meetings, etc.).
Content-Creation: Du bereitest Inhalte (Text, Bild, Video etc.) für interne und externe Stakeholder auf – mit Blick für unterschiedliche Perspektiven.
Gestaltung von Projekten: Bedarfsorientiert übernimmst du externe Kommunikationsprojekte in PR, Social Media, Website und Branding.

Dein Profil

Du bringst min. 3 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der internen Kommunikation mit, idealerweise in einem Scale-up oder Tech-Umfeld, gerne auch mit Hintergrund in externer Kommunikation oder PR.
Du hast bereits Kommunikationsstrukturen mit aufgebaut und Change-Prozesse kommunikativ begleitet. Zusätzlich solltest du Erfahrung im Projektmanagement mitbringen. Employer Branding ist von Vorteil.
Du verfügst über exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch sowie verhandlungssichere Englisch-Kenntnisse.
Du entwickelst überzeugende Konzepte, textest sicher und nutzt PowerPoint als Gestaltungswerkzeug für wirkungsvolles Storytelling.
Du bist empathisch im Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Zielgruppen und ihren Perspektiven und bringst Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit C-Level und Führungskräften mit.
Du packst gerne selbst an und verbindest operative Umsetzung mit strategischem Denken.
Du interessierst dich für Nachhaltigkeit und Kreislaufwirtschaft und bist neugierig gegenüber technischen Sachverhalten.

Changing the game

cylib ist ein forschungsbasiertes deutsches Scale Up für ganzheitliches Batterierecycling - von der Entladung bis zur Rückgewinnung aller Komponenten der Lithiumbatterie - das 2022 in Aachen von drei visionären Gründern, darunter einer weiblichen Geschäftsführerin, gegründet wurde.

Unser Prozess

Der cylib-Prozess bietet einen kompletten End-to-End-Prozess vom Batteriepack bis zum grünen Batteriematerial, indem es eine Kombination aus mechanischer und thermischer Vorbehandlung sowie eine innovative Lithium- und Graphitrückgewinnung auf Wasserbasis einsetzt. Im Gegensatz zu den etablierten Unternehmen kann cylib daher Batteriematerialien wie Lithium, Graphit oder Mangan zurückgewinnen. Das Verfahren wurde in mehrjähriger Forschungsarbeit an der RWTH Aachen entwickelt und bietet eine effiziente, ressourcen- und klimafreundliche Rückgewinnung aller Batteriematerialien aus Altbatterien.

Die Technologie von cylib ermöglicht die Rückgewinnung aller Batteriekomponenten, unabhängig davon, ob es sich um eine End-of-Life-Batterie oder Produktionsausschuss handelt. Die Rückgewinnung grüner Sekundärrohstoffe aus dem cylib-Prozess ermöglicht die Verwirklichung einer echten Kreislaufwirtschaft auf dem europäischen Markt.
